N/A power

Hey guys!

I know this is a pain, but I'm noob and have checked all other post and none of them really helped.

I have a late-00-early 01 impreza rx and am looking for that little extra power. Are pods worth doing? The guy at auto pro said a 3A filter and some piping? Also pretty sure there's no air flow sensor. People also say just get a k&n panel filter any good? power difference?

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Cheers in advance.

Power difference would be sweet stuff all.

Dont bother mate. Your not gonna find any noticeable gains from the NA.

Most you can do is just put on a nice cat-back exhaust, new headers, resonatorectomy, panel filter and then you can at least enjoy the sound of the boxer rumble.

i wouldnt waste to much of your time trying to extract hp outta a n/a... leave what you got and one day get a wrx/sti

Theres no noticeable difference but yer it mite increase your hp a tiny bit. For NA i would get something for noise that sounds good. then bolt up a cat back exhaust and you will be set. If your interested ive got a HKS pod filter has a nice tone when you reach just before red line.

save your money for the turbo car later

Thanks guys i think I'll save up for suspension instead of pods etc , already got a muffler which sounds good enough for me

cheers!

If you've already got the exhaust sorted, then just run some decent gearbox oil (Motul, Redline MTX) and upgrade brakes / handling. Some of the used brake parts in the For Sale section are a bolt on upgrade for your car, & a cheap way to get quality stopping power. Don't be in a rush, what you have is a great first car

Alternatively, the cheapest way to go a little quicker down the strip without a turbo is chemical supercharging (off road only of course). The crank will take it without any problems.
