side effects of adding another muffler?

hi all

Maybe i am getting old/boring, but gone are the days where i loved a 100+db exhaust note..
my question is will adding another, say 3" "turbo" high flow muffler, give me the reduction in noise without losing any power?
i dont want to go the silencer route purely because i dont want to lose any power.

car has 3"tbe 1x resonator, xforce cannon.

cheers

ps, does anyone have a 3" muffler for sale?? :P

If you stick another 3" muffler in line with another 3" muffler, odds are you'll lose power

stick another resonator or hot dog
or alternatively, go with an oval muffler rather than cannon

I think switching to an oval or twin tip muffler was what he was saying Joe. Id say the loss of power, would be sweet fuck all if anything mate, you wouldnt even notice it.

Cheers

My little brother runs 2 mufflers on his R33 Skyrine (siq) and still makes over 400rwhp. He does have a high mount GT30R and external gate though.....

I would suggest that you may lose some peak hp but make more torque sooner due to the slight increase in back pressure.

get rid of the xforce muffler and get somethin with a little more packing in it.

Good question...been contemplating doing the same with mine...sounds like a 747.

Exhaust manufacturers 'claim' you gain horsepower when you install their performance product......so if you install 2 of them....shoudnt you get twice the increase?? :)

but seriously, the amount of 'power' you will loose will be a few hp max, and that will be at 7500rpm...
alot nicer on your ears....and alot less likely to get done for hoon laws when being naughty..

Steve.
