Blow Off Valve Problem

Hey peoples,

Quick question for you.
I had to take my Banana over the pits today and the inspector failed the BOV for being excessively noisy ... the only problem is its plumback so how the f#ck am I supposed to make it quieter ??
Any ideas would be helpful ... even if its just a quick fix while it goes over the pits ??

Cheers

Stuart

smack a stocker on to get over the pits, then change to ur aftermarket one when ur cleared. should be able to borrow one from someone here for a 6ixer of beer :)

No can do ... the BOV is mounted to the FMIC pipework.
The thing I can't get my head around is that the BOV thats on there is a plumb back anyway so its essentially the same as a stocker !!

All I can think of is get a short piece of hose the same as the vacuum line. Put a small ball bearing into it to stop the vacuum working, but push the ball up far enough that it will still sit onto the BOV. Joiner on the other end. On your way to the pits, pull up around the corner and put it on. Remove it after you leave.

take off the bov, get a rubber cap and cover the hole that the bov leaves.

the bitch will flutter but it wont make a pstchh.

Just a question which pits you going to, cause this shit you shouldnt be getting done for.
Especially for a front mount as long as its bracketed on secure and safe it should past.

The people a warwick pits are awsome bunch of guys. Boss goes there to get customer cars over and they let off small things. (oil leaks etc) im pretty sure they would let you off for the BOV

This was at Welshpool.
They pulled me up for the BOV, my total rolling diameter is 10mm to big so my rims have to be changed and I have to have the underside of the engine and gearbox degreased as its a bit dirty !!
Gotta love these people when you see some of the shite thats driving around on the roads !!

What size are your tyres?

EYEZ 05-09-2008 09:11 AM

tyres are 225/40 18 which apparently works out to be 25 bigger than the standard 16" tyres hence 10mm to big as your allowed to be 15mm bigger .
