Double check vac lines and line routing?

waxdass 16-12-2008 12:56 PM

I'm going to plumb the compressor cover line straight into the wastegate, this will determine what pressue the actuator is set at.
From this I can see If I have enough pre-load on it and go from there.

-suggested from Steve @ AVO.

Let us know how you get on....

waxdass 16-12-2008 05:52 PM

I just plumbed the compressor to the wastegate - did a 4th gear pull & it was pretty much smack bang on 1 bar.

BTW - phantom CEL was off on the way home from work, now its up again.

waxdass 17-12-2008 06:48 PM

so looks like its purely the stock ecu (aka no tune for mods) thats makin it very laggy, but its good to know the actuator is correctly setup.

btw - I have reset my ecu just then - and within 10 seconds sitting on idle - the mysterious CEL came back on. Really farkn weird :S Doesnt show up in Ecuexplorer's codes

EDIT: Looks like ecuexplorer isnt fully developed to read every CEL code.. and the only other alternative is to get subaru to scan it. which i'l have to do.

Error code: P0130 Front Oxygen Sensor Circuit Malfunction

is this the 02 sensor that sits in the headers before the turbo?
Read AFR?

RichX 18-12-2008 12:34 PM

Can't believe your smashing around without a tune??

waxdass 18-12-2008 12:45 PM

not "smashing" & meth is turned off, just headers & vf34/p20... not to mention runs wastegate pressure (doesnt go more than 1 bar).

Dead 02 sensor is most likely the new headers which are coated & wrapped, excessive heat? mayb.

I have heard of ceramic coating killing oxygen sensors while the coating is still fresh (not yet baked on). I was recommended to put an old sensor in until the coating was baked on. This could be the cause of the problem?

waxdass 18-12-2008 07:30 PM

Nah its not, I just poked my head under the car and found that the white wire has been torn off the sensor

Gotta unscrew it and try solder it back on this weekend.
