on mine before and after exhaust but you really need to get it tuned. its well worth it 100 times over, really wakes these things up! |
Far out you can really see the boost come on earlier.

Thought your subi was going to be the only V6 without a note on the exhaust Tom?
|
i might have something to do with this decision hes making....lol :p
|
Still havent got it yet :)
But defiantly thinking. Another question, what are the differences in exhaust note between mild steel and stainless, and titanium? |
Mild steel has a deeper sound, stainless doesn't absorb high frequencies as well and may sound tinnier, be aware that there's 3 different grades of stainless generally used in prefabbed exhausts..... And most use the cheapest/thinnest kind.
Titanium.....yet to see a real titanium system.....Apart from on a racing RGV at barbs! Even the mega dollar Porsche racing systems don't use it, they're thick gauge stainless |
Ti is a bit tinniery/raspier than stainless. but its light as fuck, i held up pete (DE207)'s system with a few fingers. And then i picked up his exhaust ;)

Got a 3" system on mine today. It let out the boxer roar, and it spools ealier. Ooohhh yeah baby :D
Now don't get me wrong, I am no veteran of the track, but even after driving the MY99 for years the Ver 6 STI now scares the shit out of me sometimes when I put my foot down  |
Teaspoon of cement required Fobs!?!?
Gotta love the boxer rumble eh? How are the anchors?? |
When i put my 3" on untuned at first it was awesome, then it got really laggy and the bottom end power/torque was alot less then before the exhaust went on.
