universal O2 sensors...

right i need to replace my rear O2 sensor i know its a 4 wire fitment as i had a look, now its for a bug eye, is there one which will work correcty? i spoke to sean at ASG he said he has no idea if a universal will work correctly..

so the big question is has anyone used one? if so from where, what make and model no. i know coventrys do a uni 4 wire Nkt/NKG for 119+ gst.
but i just wanna be sure its gonna be right... also i noticeg the wire colours are different, still have 2 blacks but the other 2 wires are different...

thanks

Pretty sure the Bosch 02 sensor works alright with the OE ECU.

any ideas on the wiring? did u manage to fix the jerking mate? im still struggling with it, thinkin o2 sensor, down to 280km a tank now an its fairly gutless....??

Yeah jerking has gone after new crank and cam angle sensors. These control your ignition and timing so if they are on the way out i would assume they would effect your fuel economy to some extent.

I think my fuel economy has improved noticeably after new ones.

if you hook up a multimeter to it you should be able to see if its working or not before shelling out for a new one, i'm not sure which is the signal wire for the bugeye 4 wire one though

im a boilermaker an to be honest i have no idea how to test it mate..

sean seemed to think it was in the wrong place too... said it should be further from turbo in the 2nd hole on bug eye? an the wires are too short to reach, they said about an extension lead? but they kept sayin about interferance an joined wires so..... what to do???

Strubaru 12-03-2009 10:47 PM

yeah, should be in the lower position at the end of the downpipe on a bug, now you mention it, isn't it the front one you should be changing (its in the up-pipe) pretty sure that one trims the fuel back, maybe the bugeye guru's can step in & confirm or deny :)

its bin into ASG a while back, they verso'd it an tuned to suit my mods

3'' tbe,
blitz boost controller,
CAI.
ssq bov
AVO tmic
but its always played up a bit, 1st they said it was CAI pipe so i took it off an replaced with stock an K&N panel filter back for retune next day another 250 pissed up the wall as no difference they then said o2 sensor in wrong place, but the funny thing is if you clean afm it goes away for a bit?? its had a new one now still same problem (i run filters dry).... sean an the lads were defo talkin bout the one in exhaust as they tried to remove it while i was there.. its back in on the 23rd just wanna get to the bottom of it, its pretty sluggish now.... blew an inter coller pipe an was told by garage o2 rear sensors in the right place an they run well hotter..... aaarrrr think im gonna buy a V8 hahaha
