DCCD Problem

The DCCD in my MY06 is faulty. When I turn the car on, it works... however after a random period of time, ususally no longer then 5 minutes, all the DCCD lights on the dash go off and it defaults back to auto. The guys at Allstar Garage have not seen this before.

Has anyone experianced this - or a workshop in perth that would have some knowledge in this area?

still under subaru warranty? get them to replace it!

Have never seen that happen with mine before.

As Jester said if its still under warranty being a 2006 model it should still be get Subaru to have a look at it.

My car's ECU has been cracked.. and is now controlled by ECUTek. Does the ECU control the DCCD, could this be the problem?

No ECUtek reflash doesn't affect DCCD operation because the DCCD control is run on a separate computer.

Some info on how the DCCD works.

Thanks to AmericanDave for this link a while back.

If the car is still under Subaru new car warranty you will not be sent any warranty papers in the mail. Check the delivery date on the first page of your handbook and if warranty hasn't expired (ie 3 years) take it to a Subaru dealer and get it repaired under the new car warranty.
If it is out of manufacturer warranty and if you bought it less than 3 months ago from a dealer, it should be covered by the statutory 3 month used car warranty.
It could be as simple as a loose plug or wire...

The 3 year subaru warrenty is expired however Australian Dealer Insurance extended my 3 year subaru warrenty to 5 years.. they have a booklet. They pay for any new warrenty claims :)

My car is giving the error code CEL P0140 when we used a OBD2 error reader. This indicates the rear oxygen sensor on the exhaust. If we reset the cruise control computer it works, however the problem keeps coming back. Because the DCCD works for a little then cuts out i'm wondering if the oxygen sensor is messing up the DCCD as well?

Mister Two 17-03-2009 06:25 PM

as far as I know 02 sensor operation does NOT influence DCCD operation
