Default Clutch change

Hey guys changing the clutch in a week or two and just wondering is it ok to drive with it slipping? cause i cant hit boost or it slips so just want to know if it would be safe to drive with the clutch slipping how it is atm.

It wont damage anything? if so what would it damage? Gearbox? Flywheel? cheers.

what the fuck did you just write?

you will be fine. you wont damage anything.

but if the clutch completely dies on you, then yes you are stranded.

depends how bad the slip is.

You won't damage anything unless you seriously overheat it, in which case you can weld pieces of your clutch to the flywheel, which will then absolutely require machining. Like brake rotors, flywheels have thickness limits and can only be resurfaced and seriously overheated so many times before you start getting heat spots and cracking.

You should machine the flywheel anyway when you replace the clutch. Machining brings back the grooves needed to help break in quicker while imbedding a new clutch on the surface. If the flywheel has deep enough surface cracks, the flywheel will need to be replaced.

Or even better replace it with a lightweight item while it's in getting another clutch

Yer just a heads up, when your clutch is slipping, it usually means its down to the ribberts, which means that there scoring the F**k out of your flywheel, so you will probably be up for a new flywheel aswell. Best bet is not to drive the car till the clutch is done, just trying to save you some $$$ in the long term.
