Urgent question RE: Brakes...something fell off!

So this here dooby clip fell off when I was on the way to work this morning.

What is it?

Is it dangerous to use the car without it? Note: I am booked for an AHG day on the 19th so whats fine for road might not count there?

How much are they and whats the part number? Or has anyone got one lying around they dont want / need?

Can tell you this much, your pads arnt going to fall out coz they got the dowls going through them. think its just a retainer clip for the pads or some shit, they usually comes with the pads when you buy new ones i think.

I'm guessing it keeps tension on the dowels so they dont rattle?

Correct, brakes will work fine, just may make some noise. Scrutineer should not worry too much either, but that it is just an educated guess...

I've been missing these clips for a while, you get a lil clunk now and then, but I haven't rear ended anyone due to brakes flying off...strangely enough, I have been rear ended by someone else though...

just get a new one from subaru.

It's just the anti-rattle plate. No harm from it missing apart from a bit of a rattle over rough road.
