Changing timing belt
So with the engine apart i was told that the timing belt has seen better days, so now looking to change it.
What would ppl recommend for something thats pumping out some decent power (350KW atw+). Rough cost for timing belts? |
Genuine one no good for 350kw????
|
^^^
Thats why im asking if theres any better than genuine.. otherwise ill stick with a geunine one.. |
Yeah fair enough, it may be sufficient.

DON'T USE AFTERMARKET TIMING BELTS.
Stock will be fine. Knowing you though, its not good enough... so if you want a "high performance" one, get the STi upgraded stronger timing belt. It's OEM and its stronger, so you can't go wrong. Also it has cherry blossom red highlights so its good for an extra 50HP. P.S. it's fucking expensive. |
HOw much is sti timing belt? How much is standard timing belt.?
I was told that it looked a bit ragged but that was only an opinion so I'll wait for the experts to make the decision |
when was it last replaced? timing belt is meant to be done every 100,000km according to manual...
from memory, my timing belt was about $200-300 |

How about this one Tino. If someone reckons it looked a bit 'ragged' just do it mate. Last thing you need is it to go, your slugs to bend your valves and then spend thousands on headwork for the sake of a few hundred bucks.
