club spec evo 4 ecu
gday people
i was just wondering if the club spec evo 4 ecu is more aggressive then the standard 99 wrx ecu in other words will i make more power running the evo 4 ecu cheers |
noooo
|
That's a big negatory. Club spec evo 4 is just a standard wrx in a pretty dress :)
|
most club spec models were basically just an optional cosmetic upgrade on the normal wrx.

will there be any difference between the tune the the ecus
cheers |
I"ve actually herd that the MY99 was the most aggresive tune, some people with MY00 changed to MY99 ECU's.
However there is no difference bettween a Clubspec ECU and a standard ECU. |
99/00 WRX runs at 14.5psi boost, where the 97/98 and 01/02 models run at 13.5psi.
But its not as simple as swapping ECU's - you can't just swap an ecu from another model! If you want a better tune, get an aftermarket ecu or piggyback, and get it tuned! |
when i had my white my00 which was actually a built 99 and a friend had his silver my00 built in 00 we had a run, same mods zorst and pod filter, we shifted at the same times except my car was about half a car length in front until 3rd gear before i started to pull away..... as far as i no the 99 ecu was tuned more aggresive.

cheers[/QUOTE] No...same part numbers on those ecu's. Only the V5 sti and v6 sti ecu's had different tunes. Due to some of the v5 engine popping under warranty, Subaru aus reflashed them to drop the peak boost and add more timing retard under boost. All version 6 Sti's had the more conservative tune from the start with no reflash involved. |

You need to take into account the ecu's self learning into account. Ignition timing will vary between 2 of the same year models due to engine health/ fuel & ecu learned driving style. Even similar but different 3" exhausts will show differences when compared. |
