Wack angles?

they fucking things go up and down, whats whack about that, the only angle they go on is the amount of cambers and that has no bearing or affect on the operation of the coil over itself..

what your probably hearing is either the springs working, which is they are, harden them up or adjust the spring bases up so they don't have so much slop in the springs, or the spring is rubbing on the strut itself, but ive never seen that on a DMS

It's not uncommon for coilovers to bind but my issue is creaking.

Sourced some spray white-lithium grease, will give all the joints/bushes a once over this weekend and see how it goes.

It's not as simple as that. Any inverted style coilover on the rear of a Subaru will not go up and down as it should because the strut does not point anywhere near the contact patch of the tyre. Conventional (small diameter) coilovers don't suffer as badly because the shaft is constantly being oiled and the friction is much less than the surface of a 40,50 or 60mm inverted like a DMS. That's why Subaru (and Prodrive etc) use large diameter coils that are offset toward the contact patch of the tyre. WRC Subaru's (in the rear strut era) used different rear hubs that had the strut directly over the hub centre. It's not a myth, it's a problem that suspension tuners have been battling for years.

I see your point here, but the angles the stock stuts sit at are not all that savage, and im highly doubtful new shocks will be squeaking away as theyd be freshly lubed up, and the chances for grit dust etc to take its toll and cause friction issues with the inverted strut setup is pretty much nil...

most of the time the issues you hear with coil overs, and in any brand is the sphericle bearings in the top hats flogging out..
