Yes the benifit is a more stable form of boost control, hence the smoother curve.

Verso retune will also adjust the boost level up to and including any parametres you want to give Sean. If you just want a quick daily with ZERO problems you'll end up with ~19psi. If you want 25psi he'll probably try but in the interest of safety and keeping of his good name and reputation as a tuner he will get whatever he can for you. As a bit of a comparison for you I got 276awhp from my 02 STI after a VERSO tune with 19.2psi, 3 port solenoid, 3.5" exhaust, 4" dump pipe and K&N panel filter with intake resonator removed. Only issue was a clicking noise from the new solenoid but a cable tie fixed that up nicely

While we are on this topic, are these pretty easy to fit? If so, anyone got a DIY thread somewhere? Might put one in for future purposes...right now my ride still running stock boost.

Edit: I read something that Ill need a retune if i throw one of these in yeah?

currently my car is running 1.3 bar and spike up to 1.5 at night.
1.3 =19.1psi and 1.5 bar = 22psi
my planned mods are just front and dump with high flow cat.
pod filter fuel pump and 3 port solenoid with probably 20psi.
i am cahsing 190KW is that possible? and safe?

You need to be able to program whatever is running your boost control if you swap to a MAC 3 port....It runs at a different duty cycle compared to the stock boost solenoid.

i am getting it verso tune. would you recommand leave the 3 port alone jsut tune the factory solenoid, as the 3 port require more time on tunning or...... other factor that i should use the factory instead of 3 port?

Use the 3 port if you can afford to ($90 ). You are paying $990 for the initial tune wether it spends 10 minutes on the dyno or an hour, best bet is to get as many of the mods you can in for that first tune to save you needing a re-tune every 6 weeks because you want to add something else.

FYI 276awhp = 206kwaw so your goal of 190kwaw should be made very easily with the mods listed.

Also MAKE SURE you upgrade the fuel pump if this has not been done already to either a Walbro GSS342 (255l/hr or 500hp fuel pumps they are sometimes referred to) or a similarily rated Bosch, but these will require a little bit of mucking around to fit properly. Cheap insurance to give the engine plenty of fuel and not cause a lean out and KABOOM

From the end result( power run) how much power difference between EBC and 3 port? and the shapes of the curve?
i am still not convince that EBC is a far far better unit that 3 port due to the cost of setup and the unit itself compare to the outcome of 3 port.

ECU flash(990) + EBC($600)+ EBC setup(100-150)+ tune(10mins)= what power and shape of curve

ECU flash(990)+ standard or 3port(<100)+setup(50)+tune(30mins)= what power and shape of curve

can someone answer these questions? i just need some real graphs and figures to understand these scenarios.
obviously EBC holds boost better, peak hold and etc.
but for a daily driving and want better response(190KW)
would this set up
ECU flash(990)+ standard or 3port(<100)+setup(50)+tune(30mins) achieve that and safe to the engine?
