Waterspray on FMIC?
 

Have a waterspray already fitted on my TMIC and am going to a FMIC very soon. What are peoples opinions on keeping it and setting it up on the FMIC or selling it?

Leaning towards keeping it as it will cool the inlet charge even further but is it overkill?

plumbing water spray onto a fmic usually proves difficult cause the tank is higher then the outlet, hence the water drains out before you get a chance to put it to use :rolleyes:

You can get a one way check valve to prevent that. The Evo's use them standard and I think a waterspray on a FMIC is a great idea!

Never thought of that tuna... Tank is in the boot and was thinking of having the nozzles on the top of the FMIC, would only be a few inches lower than where they are on the tmic I'd think...

What would a second hand kit go for? It's a ally tank (about 25ltrs) in the boot, two nozzles and has a manual switch and an auto that is boost triggered?

I have a waterspray on my front mount (both factory fitted, hehe!) and it's great - you can tell when it's working.

Keep it.

Where would one get a one way check valve from?

Coventry's, I think RMS also stocks them... All it is is a hose connector that has a ball bearing that restricts water flow when the system is trying to siphon itself out.

i bought my one way valve from where i worked, (hyundai), cost me all of $1
they have them in most standard washer lines anyway.
i am using one one for two sprayers on my FMIC, works a treat from the factory
switch, just ran extra hose down

How many nozzles you running and are they at the top or bottom of the FMIC?

they are at the top... both about 1/3rd the way in so they cover as much of the FMIC as possible. i ran the hose from passenger front strut tower around the battery box and down into the bumper, then across the top of the FMIC, the valve is right before the "T" that splits out to both nozzles. that way the only loss of water is in the short distance between the valve and each nozzle.
