Boost cut?
Howdy all,
I've had a search and read through and I'm fearly sure I've had boost cut. I've recently had a major service and I noticed the mecanic turned my mbc right down, so I turned it back up a bit and now I'm getting the check engine light when I first start the car cold. Then it goes away, but has come on a few times on the highway now. I'm assuming its boost cut? My question is if you reset the ecu will this fix the problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers! -Trent |
Do a search and read the CEL code of the light (assuming you are running stock ECU).
If you can't do that, take it down to your workshop of choice and have them read it. Boost cut is like hitting a brick wall, not a CEL. |
Why would he adjust the boost controller if you didnt ask him to? New mech time.
|
or, why do you have a manual boost controller? that shits for S13's, throw it out.
|
Yeah I will try checking the cel code tonight. I've been meaning to get a tune done anyway. Any suggestions on workshops that would do the tune and put in an ebc? Also any idea of cost as I'm pretty skint after x-mas?

Ok it was 2 long and 2 short flashes so knock sensor? How do I fix this?

Is it locaded under the intercooler?? If so it was real loose, I tightened it up a bit (not too much) now the light isnt coming up I'll reset the ecu and see if it comes back on.
