Boost cut after installing stock BOV
Ok first things first...
Car in question is a MY98 WRX. Had a Turbosmart BOV (atmospheric wank), has Turbosmart bleed valve too. With the atmo BOV, could flog it in any gear no problems whatsoever... But being me, I'm not a fan of atmo BOV's so I put a stock one on. Since then smashing the right foot into the firewall now gives boost cut (or whatever else causes the feeling of hitting a brick wall). I've wound down the bleed valve with no success. Is this something silly like I have put the stock BOV back on the wrong way or something else. Any help is much appreciated!

cant put the stock bov backwards on a 98, as the hose diametre is different between inlet and outlet.

No boost gauges here...
Diameters looked the same when I was putting it back on? Or maybe I was shoving the pipe on too hard

Will have to check on mine but almost positive that the hose from the tmic is nearly double the other side of the bov

Oh in that case, I forgot to mention that the hose is not official Subaru, but rather something that fitting from the floor of my shed. Seemed to fit both ends of the BOV.

Simple John.....
The atmo bov was leaking when it should have been sealing under boost (and the bleed was set up without anyone picking this leakage happening), the new bov is sealing properly hence the boost overshoots & you head butt the dash!..... Wind it down a little and it should stop.....
