They will set you back about $450 for the muffler + fitting, give Pete at Exhaust world a ring on 92283244.

wow reviving the dead thread. my bro had one fitted to his M3 and it helped him out of the shit so many times as he has a heavy right foot.

before when he was just starting his car the noise was stupidly loud, like a stock wrx at 4-5k rpm because of his wacky cams and concrete clutch and pick up point. anyway, closed its as quiet as a Hyundai but in between is absolute crap. after a while you get a rattle of the butterfly inside and it sound shit. quieter, but the rattle starts to over power any stealthy gain and a cop will ask what he hell the rattling is. so it was either fully opened or shut.

anyway we ended up hard wiring a switch for full open or closed. the remotes we discovered after a while would have a delay of switching between modes then one eventually died after a while. they are a solid muffler but can take alot of room underneath due to the mechanism etc. he got his done in a place in Malaga somewhere. am considering one for Betty, or two.

BTW we sprayed the silver butterfly valve inside black , if you see the muffler you will see why. looking down the tip you can see the valve no doubt plod would see as well. a "none the wiser" plod wouldn't pick it.

From a legal perspective, there is no reason to deem a variable exhaust system illegal if it complies with all regulations and standards in both the fully open and closed position. If the system wouldn't comply when fully open (eg: bypasses the muffler such as the screamer example above) then it would be illegal. That is not the case here.
spoken like a true lawyer..

i miss you
