Hey just recently i have noticed a flashing red key symbol on my dash when the system is armed, i have never noticed it before i have had my bug eye for 2yrs now.

The alarm is i presume aftermarket (or maybe just never had brant fitted?) but runs of the subi key, the reason i am concerned is because sometimes the car locks its self after about a minute and sometime it does not?

Last night the car had been sitting for at least an hour and i heard it lock? i thought it was already..

Does anyone know what this symbol means, and if the alarm is adjustable ie- auto lock mode and or
silent arm disarm (sometimes it makes no noise)

Pretty sure it's to do with the in-key immoboliser/transponder chip, if you try starting it with a key without the inbuilt chip, it won't go. The red key flashes to indicate the system is active. No idea what's going on with your door locking though!!

the doors will re-lock if you unlock it, then don't open a door after about 30 seconds. and as above, the red flashing light has always been there

pretty sure the flashing has not been there, found my book for the car an it says it starts flashing in 60sec's but now its like straight away. i was looking in the car a while back amd i only saw the other red light flashing but now i have the other, so it must be normal... lol
