Default gc8 cluster, help

My cluster on my97 wrx is not working,it was at 135000km.
I am considering buying a "JDM Subaru WRX GC8 EJ20 Speedo Gauge Cluster" with 131000km on it.

because it is JDM i have doubts it'll work on my car.
does anyone know whether the cluster will work on my car or not??

thanks.

Does it have the same pin-out's? Is the rev clock in the middle or to the right?

Make sure the connectors on the back are the same as the one you're buying
take yours out and look at them and get pics of the back of the one you're buying
to compare.

Is the tacho working? If it is just your speedometer and odometer that aren't working, you could simply have a faulty speed sensor

If you are not comfortable having a look at it yourself take it to AISAT instruments. They might be able to fix your current one cheaper than buying a new one.

Is your car an early or late 97? White or black faced guages?
What is wrong with yours? Anything working at all?

LOL!

Do as others (besides ajayjayjayjayjayjay) have said and ensure the plugs on your busted one are the same as the one you're buying. There were differences across the years.

ajayjayjayjay, you do realise that some are manual speedo driven, some are electric speedo driven in 96-97 ?

just swapping them over might "fit" but they wont work if its the wrong speedo drive.

so no, you didnt answer the question.
