i let mine sit and cranked a few times and finally got it running, crawled home off boost, let it idle for an hour or two... took it for a spin and all good to go again.
if it's got a lot of water, your best option is definitely plugs out, intercooler piping off, and crank it over, clear it out and hope nothing is bent internally from hydraulic lock.

I was lucky, I hit a massive 'river' on the Grt Eastern yesterday arvo... I'm running a PW CAI that sits in front of the wheel in the wheel arch... not even a stutter!!
