what as in pump the pedal up after you bleed them? Always thought that was normal. does the pedal sink to the floor slowly wen you apply some pressure to it?

theres your problem?? you probably buggered the seal in the master cylinder. should only do half pumps when bleeding

I had the same problem with my GC8, even after a mechanic did them it needed doing again though mine were changed over so dry.
You haven't got a ratty hose that's expanding under pressure have you?

try this, after a quick search i'd review this thread for your bleeding order: http://www.perth-wrx.com/vb/showthread.php?t=10887

When driving and the brakes are applied, it feels a little soft under foot until you lift off slightly and re-apply the pedal for a much firmer feel, if that makes sense.

Eh ?

I think he means that you should have full pedal pressure at about half pedal travel, then open the bleed nipple and the pedal should travel to the floor, hold the pedal there and close the bleed nipple.

If the pedal is going to the floor straight up, its leaking somewhere, and perhaps in the master cylinder and its seal.
