Default Ignition... i think

Okay, usually when a vehicle is started, the engine fires after starter motor and so forth....then the engine revs come up to ~1000rpm i.e., and idles.

The trouble im having is, directly after engine fires(and you can hear it after the starter...) the revs do not come up on their own and the motor is very heistant to continue turning over(revs about 200rpm!!) Now this is if i dont put my foot on the acc pedal.

Is this normal? Most vehicles ive driven, the RPM comes up to above idle nicely without foot on acc.

Help please-im fairly certain that its not battery cos the motor is turning over already-the RPM just hasnt risen. Possibly should keep my foot on the acc pedal??

comments...help...should i just take it back to Ossy Park and get them to look at it?

Are you running aftermarket ecu?

If so could be your cold start setting

no it's not normal.

Does this happen all the time, or only when your car's hot?

Interestingly it only happens when the car has been driven "earlier" i.e, 1-2 hrs. Its cold start setting is fine-no prob there!

so many variables, go to subaru, plug in a diagnostics check and see if any code errors show up.

Fuel pump is also a possibility.

Had the same sort of issue a while back, would turn her on and she'd splutter really badly until i poked the throttle. soon as i did that she'd fire up no problems.... until the fuel pump completely shat itself.
