Default Rotors & Pads Replacement (Brembos)

Hey guys,

This has probably come up before.

Need some advice for New Rotors and Pads for My 2007 Lib GT (Sti tuned) - has Brembos.

Any ideas on what Pads and Rotors to purchase and where I can get them fitted at a reasonable cost (not Subaru).

Cheers,
Jon

When I replaced my rotors and pads on my old My07 tuned by sti Lib I went with Dixcel rotors and pads. Not cheap but very big improvement over stock crap that subaru supply. You can buy them from Troy at Prospeed Racing or try Wei at VisionR.

Big improvement and way less brake dust with the dixcels.

I've just put on a set of DBA slots front and rear, and Bendix ultimate pads. Fitting done by a local tyre and exhaust store. Brakes $1500, fitting $200.

Auto One order the parts for me. (I tend to try to support my local guys down here than but from the net, unless there is a big difference in price, or they don't have it)

Ive recently aquired quotes from a few places for DBA rotors and various pads. GSLRallySports were the most price competitive suppliers.

http://www.perth-wrx.com/vb/members/gslrallysport.html

still yet to purchase them though, so I cant really comment on service quality.

+ 1 for DBA. (02 Sti - so im assuming 326/297mm rotors same as you?)

I have 4k fronts/650 rears. (I couldnt justify the 5k price for the 'pretty hat'). They are great. Mated to Elig pads, they work very well, dont get chewed through... and are vastly better than stock. (That said, I have braided lines fitted, and a M/C support brace for added feel).

DBA/Ferodo is another well voted fave amongst the masses.

Brent.

EDIT: Forgot the second half, fit and bleed yourself. *waits for a Matt Cooper DIY crack* :P

However, any reputatable brake place COULD do it, its moreso 'are you comfortable giving them the keys'... When I was shopping for them, I rang everywhere... and cheapest I found in Perth was Perth Brake Parts I think theyre called...? Their factory backs onto Orrong RD, Welshpool/Kewdale area.

+1 For DIXCEL's, such an awesome rotor and much better than DBA's
which I've had before!!!

Also a big thumbs up for ACRE SUPER FIGHTER pads!!!

Dixcel and Acre is a well priced combination and both can be had
from Troy at PROSPEED or WEI at VISION R.

With regards to Acre Super Fighters, we haven't got them on the shelf for Brembo calipers, but we have them to suit all other Subaru. They're generally around the $89 per front axle set, and $79 per rear axle set mark...
