Getting GD STI topmount fit in a V3/4 GC8.

Almost got the cooler in but hit a snag :/
The BOV part of the cooler hits what I think is the idle control, on the passengers side of the throttle body.
Have seen plenty of GD coolers into V5/6 GC's but cant find any on a v3/4.

^^Theres a hose under the bov bit of the cooler there, it goes back to the intake pipe after the AFM. Its hitting that.

^^To the right of the A B C thing is the hose the cooler is hitting.

Any ideas? I dont know what to do now.

P.s. JDM's bonnets struts come in handy!

You will need to make a bov adapter or move the tmic further back to the fire wall

MSR has told me that...
To get GD to fit..
you have to cut the whole bov mount off flush and weld a plate into it, then cut the BOV hose fitting off the std 98 tank, and weld that in.

The best case is the 09 sti tmic, you can pull the front tank off and turn it 180degs , weld a plug into the bov hole, and weld the bov pipe off the std tmic to be in the right spot for the hose to bov to fit up.

Going to go with option 1.
Can anyone on here weld aluminium?? :D

Yep you will need a BOV adapter made up to go 90' to the side.

Check out Ramon's one he got for his GD Spec C TMIC in the 201,
it works well.

It can be done. Just need to make your own BOV adapter.

you dont happen to have the stock bov from that cooler do you mate?
if you can help me out pm me...

pm sent
jdm and gx-i will have to get something made up for the bov, the whole bracket on the end tank that it bolts onto has to be cut off and welded up :( cooler is against the brake boost line on the firewall and still doesnt clear the sensor dealy on the intake :(

I've done it on mine, we cut the angled BOV mount off & welded a plate over it then drilled & mounted the BOV pipe which was cut off the old top mount further out to which the original BOV was mounted.
