you need to run an independant vacuum line from that point in the pic to your gauge, just to rule out your vacuum line that you have now of any leaks or kinks behind your dash. then see what it reads when you take it for a hammer or just bring it around here and i will fix it...
lol hmmm ok.... just cause even without the boost tee its not reading stock boost
As has been mentioned, I'd be looking at all the hosing, when I pulled mine out 'engine', there was all kinds of hoses just sitting there, I'll be buying about 5meteres (or what ever's going to be required), and replacing it 'the smaller gauge hosing'.

Maybe this is something you should be looking at to?
Im actually meaning where is the best place to mount it in your engine bay.... i already have all of the stuff lol
shit sorry, i didn't read properly

wrxii 18-10-2010 08:20 PM

yeah we were gonna come around brett but i thought that you were sick... if you are better tomorrow we will pop around tomorrow arvo

yeah fucking food poisening, should be right tomorow, come round after i finish work. say about 6ish ?

norwest_rumbler 18-10-2010 10:02 PM

you can tee off your wastegate actuator line as well.
you can tee off your wastegate actuator line as well.
You can, but you won't see anything over gate pressure (10 psi) and you will see no vacuum.

norwest_rumbler 19-10-2010 01:50 PM

depends how its plumbed up & yes you will see vac in the comp housing the motor sucks thru it afterall

Mister Two 19-10-2010 02:05 PM

No you wont see vacuum if you attach the boost gauge to the compressor housing or at any place before the throttle body.

The Vacuum in the intake manifold is generated by the motor sucking air through the limited flow of the IACV with a closed throttle body.

Before the throttle body there is nothing that really limits the flow of air enough to generate a vacuum at idle.

I challenge you to try it. Hook up a boost/vacuum gauge to the compressor housing of your turbo and get back to us.

And anyway... The WHOLE point of a boost gauge is so you can see the pressure the engine is seeing. Connecting a gauge to any location other than the intake manifold is pointless.

4yr old thread revival...
mARC did that location work for you without any issues?
This line goes to the solenoid seen in the picture thats bolted underneath on the plenum, did it give stable readings?
I'm going to tap into this line intead of the FPR line, just checking that it went ok for you? the other line next to it with the damper won't work as its too short to fit a T.
heh, over 5 seconds in google............................. Its not like there's going to be many places for it to go.
