you need to run an independant vacuum line from that point in the pic to your gauge, just to rule out your vacuum line that you have now of any leaks or kinks behind your dash. then see what it reads when you take it for a hammer or just bring it around here and i will fix it...

As has been mentioned, I'd be looking at all the hosing, when I pulled mine out 'engine', there was all kinds of hoses just sitting there, I'll be buying about 5meteres (or what ever's going to be required), and replacing it 'the smaller gauge hosing'.

Maybe this is something you should be looking at to?

You can, but you won't see anything over gate pressure (10 psi) and you will see no vacuum.

No you wont see vacuum if you attach the boost gauge to the compressor housing or at any place before the throttle body.

The Vacuum in the intake manifold is generated by the motor sucking air through the limited flow of the IACV with a closed throttle body.

Before the throttle body there is nothing that really limits the flow of air enough to generate a vacuum at idle.

I challenge you to try it. Hook up a boost/vacuum gauge to the compressor housing of your turbo and get back to us.

And anyway... The WHOLE point of a boost gauge is so you can see the pressure the engine is seeing. Connecting a gauge to any location other than the intake manifold is pointless.

mARC did that location work for you without any issues?
This line goes to the solenoid seen in the picture thats bolted underneath on the plenum, did it give stable readings?
I'm going to tap into this line intead of the FPR line, just checking that it went ok for you? the other line next to it with the damper won't work as its too short to fit a T.
