Default Air box resonator

Hey guys, I have just removed my air box resonator from my front guard but am abit worried about water and other shit getting sucked up into the air box, has anyone removed theirs and not had any issues at all??
I was also thinking about chopping the top part of the resonator off and re sealing the bottom of it, but will probably lose the sound of the stock bov... can anyone help me out with any of this??
I have searched around but have not found any answers I am looking for...

Thanks brad

I removed mine back in 2007 and have not had a problem with water at all.

As long as your wheel arch guard is still in all tac then no water should go through.

i did mine, havent had a problem, as long as ur inner guard and lower splash shield is in tacked, there shudnt be much water getting up there in the first place, but the filter shud stop most of it.

After I removed the snorkus from mine I grabbed an 80mm PVC elbow joint, bellmouthed one end and jammed it into the airbox inlet. Bunnings spec CAI = winner!
