Important info for anyone running 7-8psi standard boost....
Having had recent boost problem I spoke to Ivan in the parts department at Metro Motors (very helpful guy) and it has come to light that in the pipework to the wastegate actuator there is a small brass olive that restricts the flow to the actuator and makes it stay closed for longer (produces 14psi instead of 7). Now in previous threads I have heard of people complaining of only pulling 7-8psi boost, if you are one of these people check this pipe to see if the restrictor is fitted.....

This is because my boost controller was going crazy trying to control the boost. If i were you id stick with the stock one - its there for a reason. |
I should have brought up the same thing up after I got my boost fixed. Mine was only holding 0.7bar because that restrictor was missing. Replaced it with a bleed valve and its all good. I suspect I may have missed it when I replaced the vacuum lines that had been cooked by the turbo.

smaller opening in the olive - more boost.
