Default Stock Alarm on 05 STI is stuffed I think. Anyone replaced it before with a dif one?

My alarm on my 05 STI has crapped itself.

95% of the time, I unlock the car, turn the key on and try and punch in my code and the keypad lights just stay on. If I punch in a bad code or anything it makes no sound (the beep to usually indiciate it's wrong) the lights just stay on.

Car won't turn over or anything. Up until now the only thing that seems to fix it is DC the battery and reconnect and it will usually start but the past few days it's not working anymore and the problem just stays (I was stuck far from home the other day).

I called Subi and they said it's not covered in my bs warranty I paid extra for (mistake I will never make again) so I called Action Alarms who said they get many Subarus per week now with this alarm coming in to get it replaced due to problems like this. He said they have a similar one without anti hijack which is a pain anyway for almost $500.

Should I go this or a non keypad option for less? Anyone replaced theirs?

Pisses me off.

I would stay with the key pad type. Autowatch seems to be pretty good but around the same price.

Since I have removed my factory alarm system and replaced it with an autowatch alarm I have had no problems since. Also can have more features with the new alarm system. Speak to Macey or Fabian at westside Cannington if you want to know more.

PS: I Heart Macey.
