Hey guys, been starting my Girlfriends RS up every couple of days while they are away to keep the fuel from sitting and battery from going flat etc..

I refilled the Window Washer water tank today, then started the car... bit of a spark / unusual noise and theres quite a bit of gas/smoke coming from the tailpipe.

Should I be worried at all? Or should I just go hoon it around the block and kick the fluids through it good.

What colour is the smoke by the way? A little bit of smoke is ok if its been sitting for a while, especially on an old RS! Mine used have a little puff of blue smoke on start up now and then. Take it for a drive and check for blue smoke while driving.

Away from the smoke, from just starting the car and letting it idle, the alternator isn't recharging the battery fully, most don't put out full output to 1500rpm, so you could sit there with your foot on the accelerator/pull the cable, or take it for a run, which is more fun.

Wouldnt be just because it needs a service would it? its about 300km off its 32k service. I notice a growl when you take off from a stand-still too.
