Default 02-05 STi Vin needed.

Hi guys,

Its like pulling teeth trying to get spare parts out of Subaru now John and Regents Spare Parts no longer exist.

I'm asking anyone with a EJ207 02-05 STi to please give me a vin number so I can get a Crank Angle Sensor out of Subaru Osborne Park and get my car fixed thats stranded in a Public Car park.

PM if necessary please.
Jamie.

shouldn't need a VIN, they can do a search using the engine and vehicle type. They must be lazy as OP. Call Wangara.

Nabbed a VIN off a 02 STi in the Osborne Park workshop from a helpful bloke.
For anyone that has done a 02-05 STi EJ207 transplant into their WRX you can use this

VIN: JF1GDBKH33G 030 650

Sensor Crankshaft Part Number: SU-22053AA052
This part number is the same for 03-05 WRX's as well.

Shock Horror Cost $326.15

;(

Cheers anyway Rossco,

Car is being towed back home. Holidays tomorrow morning to the East Coast so no time to stuff about.

I did not end up getting the part, not till I can get anyone on here to do a test swapover from another WRX/STi of the Crankshaft sensor.

Tested it out again this morning and I'm getting no spark across the gap from the coilpack when I unplug a lead and crank the car.
Crankshaft sensor was a second hand one, that was put in years back as well.

My old beast always has some hassle with it the day before I go on holidays...some sort of weird Karma!!!

Yep, known part of fail and Subaru rapes you with the replacement cost.

I went through 3-4 in my old GX.

With the current sensor part number you may have to cut off one of the plug guides on the sensor, it depends what engine harness you have. I know we had to do that with prototype when we swapped the cam sensor.

GD 02 STi engine harness spliced into a 99 GC8 ECU/chassis harness.

The curious thing was no Sensor Crankshaft part number came up when they plugged in my GC8 VIN number. Strange. Either that or I copied it down wrong.

Good to know the GC8 one is compatible.
