2fast4yu 26-12-2010 07:40 PM

okay thank you do think it could b anything else aswell?

Could be the idle control solenoid but is most likely your air flow meter (AFM)
are you running an after market oiled air filter ?

yeah i got an apexi air pod filter? thats it

If its oiled then thats most likely what has fucked up your afm.
you may be able to save it by removing the afm and clean it with Electra clean to get the oil off and replace . it is a fragile sensor and is easily damaged and they ain't cheap.......use oil on the filter sparingly or better still replace the original filter.

Yep definitely sounds like an AFM and its a well known problem, personally I'd be ditching the pod and going back to the stock box with hiflow filter as pods can cause problems if not maintained properly.

is it when its warmed up? or when its cold? Does it still have the keypad system, it may be an alarm issue also. Don't discount the possibility of it being the air flow meter, but the later ones are more reliable then GC8 meters, unless, the filter hasn't been maintained. I may be wrong, but the Apexi ones are not oiled anyway. Oiled filters are safe with Subaru AFM's, as long as they are oiled properly (not over-oiled). Remember, the factory filters are oiled paper. It may also be an air leak, check hose clamps and lines.

BTW, I've been running a K&N pod on my bugeye for 3 years, no issues
