Exedy Clutch Question

All,

Is this clutch a good upgrade over the standard Sti 6 speed clutch, and does anyone sell these in Aust for a similar price.?

cheers

I have one of those clutches in my car coupled with a Exedy 6Kg Light weight flywheel.

You can definitely feel the increase in pedal effort. But you get used to it pretty quick.

It definitely has a much stronger bite than a OEM 6 speed clutch. And with the 6 stiffer springs in the center the clutch itself runs silently but may increase gear noise a little on decel.
If you want you can come around and have a drive of my car to see if you like the feel.

And if you like it I have one of those clutch kits for sale for $700 ONO
I got the Exedy Super Tuff Cushion Button kit from CBA (Clutch Brake Australia) located in malaga for $550, anyone confirm if they sell to public or just trade?
These guys seems to be selling for the price of ebay minus the wait time for postage.

(was what I was getting at when referring the above link)

Try TuSpeed, Adam is always good for prices on clutches etc...

Thanks for the feedback all, but Mister Two has come to the rescue.

Will be an easy swap whilst my engine is out, before the new 2.1 goes in.

cheers

Going to get a clutch in the next few days - Pretty much chosen an Exedy - Which model is right for my car?

FJK-7123HD - Looks to be a 5 speed one, but exedy lists this as suited for GC8's
FJK-7853HD - Looks to be suited to 6 speed (STI), but Exedy lists this as GDB WRX?

Which one is the go-er?

Im aware either would suit a 6 speed transmission (Is that still correct for the above clutches?) Looks like for some reason Exedy has different models for them?

Mister Two 06-01-2011 02:37 PM

GDB = STI 6 speed

GDA = WRX 5 speed.

If you are looking to go 6 speed then the FJK-7853HD would be the best one to get. Dont forget to get a 6 speed flywheel too.

If you are sticking with the 5 speed then the FJK-7123HD is the one to use.
