Default What could cause this?

I was driving along Hepburn Ave last night and all of a sudden my car shut off, electrics stayed on but clutch, gearbox and motor went dead. I managed to get it in a bus stop bay and turned it off completely and tried starting it several minutes later but it seems to be getting starved of fuel and won't tick over. The fuel pump turns on as per usual, clutch is brand new, motors basically brand new and it was freshly tuned 2 weeks ago. I also had a bent fuel rail replaced. Upon stopping, there was no smoke from the car nor any burning/fried smells. Got it towed home last night. Anyone got any ideas on what it could possibly be?

i have the same shit problem, has been worse since the heat, I think its the stupid brant...just gotta pay to the crap ripped out.
Sometimes i just keep pumping the accelerator and it will kick up the engine again, but half the time no luck and you just have to sit there and keep waiting for the fuel to pump through, not worth getting it towed every time, happened twice to me yesterday within 10 mins.
A bit inconvenient when you are on stock road in the morning traffic and your car shuts off but all you can do is sit and keep trying

Sounds like immobiliser issue, if its not cranking and you are able to check to see if the starter motor is getting power, if its not then its more than likely the immo but check fuses, if you are getting power possibly sticky solenoid on starter and make sure the motor turns over by hand!

Thanks. I got under the hood myself just before and had a look. I seem to think it's the crank angle sensor as the injectors have no spark.

Anyone think it could be this?

It's never happened before either so I don't think it's a keypad/immobiliser issue.
