Link Ecu with Walbro Fuel Pump

ive read in some off the old posts in the mrt discussion forums that the Walbro Fuel pump doesnt go with the link ecu. Anyone know if they have resolved this problem? anyone here running a link ecu with walbro fuel pump or have had this setup b4?

Yep, i gotta link wit da walbro. No dramas, just takes 2 seconds to prime when i turn the ignition on. Noisy tho, if you get it tuned right should be ok.

I had a Walbro and a Link ECU, and I had nothing but problems.

It cut out at random times, and I'd have to turn the key off and then back on again to get it going. When it started playing up, it would be fine if I kept constant throttle, but as soon as I used different throttle openings, the pump would cut out a few seconds later.

I took out the Walbro and sold it to a Honda Civic owner who has never had a problem with it, and I fit a Bosch pump, and never had a problem with that either.

well most of the cars featured in HPI magazine that run extreme setups use mainly bosch 040 and 044. this must say they must be the better pump. never ever seen a walbro in a extreme car. must say sumthing?

balistic : which bosch fuel pump u run wif ur link b4?

are the bosch fuel pumps loud??

BALISTC 13-03-2006 12:17 PM

The bosch pump is not as loud as my Walbro was.

I'm running a Bosch 984, which is similar in output to an 040, but it has a barbed inlet rather than an open mesh screen.

nothing wrong with a walbro pump, they make an ideal plug and play upgrade and can deliver more then enough fuel for 90% of modded wrx's. if not... check your mixtures or your injectors.

I run a Walbro with a PossumLink on a MY99. No dramas whatsoever. Quiet as.

I think the trouble with Balistic's was more of a firmware update on the Link Board on MY01+ Link ECU's. I seem to recall Link New Z. fixing this. Best to speak to Leigh at RMS for the full story tho.
