Lowering

Hey all,

I have a my06 Hatch. My 18" rims arrived today and I am looking at gettin the car lowered this Saturday. I am not worried about where to get it done because I have a mate who will do it for me, but my question is more..

Lovell's v King Springs?
and how low should I go. Super Lows or ...?

im sitting on 225/40/R18's and appear to have a shitload of room between top of the tyes and the guards. I dont wanna scrape, or be illegal, just top of the tyre inside the guards sort of stuff.

Any help would be appreciated.

I have King Spring Super Lows in MY02 hatch with 19" rims and it just sits above the tyres. Still has plenty of clearance for speed bumps etc, but does rub on the rear gaurds when anyone sits in the back and the car goes around corners...

hatched, you don't have rolled guards?

thankyou that was the kinda info i was lookin for. I can get king springs super lows for $220 a set. is that a decent price?

No I dont have rolled gaurds yet. Dont drive to much with people in the back. But if you are going to I'd advise getting them done. $220 sounds ok, I could prob get them cheaper for you. Ill find out tommorow and send you a pm...

Where were you going to get the springs from? I was also thinking of upgrading to supper low king springs so that could help me. Also whoevers got them wheres the best place to get them done and wats it worth.
How much is it to get your gards rolled? Is it better to get rims first (as im still using stock ones) or will the rims just fit strait on later?

well ive always been under the impression that gettin the rims first is better, then you can lower the car to suit. my price of $220 is from coventry's thru a mechanic. (trade discount) most places ive rung and heard prices from charge around $400 supplied and fitted. Apparently it's not a hard job and as long as u have the clamps, about an hour to do if you know how, apparently... i am trying to find a cheap install. my mechanic said $130 to fit them. which isnt bad. makes it $350 in total.
