How much is cheap? Heard of good things about these tyres. Are they a tyre that last long?

I paid $200 each locally fitted. 235/45R17.

All these types of tyres dont last long. Be lucky to get 20,000km out of them I reckon with the way I drive.

nittos are something to look at if your after a tyre that can do maybe a couple track days a year and mainly street work. Nitto is a sub brand of toyo so yeah enough said haha. otherwise AD08 should be awesome (I had AD07 before). the Kumho KU36 are good value for money however one thing kumho really suck at is the center feel and soft sidewalls.

Nitto guide:

Invo basically equates the toyo T1R
NT05 basically equates the toyo R1R
Nt01 basically equates the toyo R888

personally if I could I'd get 2 sets of wheels and tyres.

cheap KU31/KU36 for the street (or even nitto invo heard good things about them)

and get a set of toyo R888 for track.

Couple of questions as I will also be due a set of tyres soon....

Currently running Hankook K107's which no longer appear to be available? They set me back a grand include 4 wheel alignment.

They have worn pretty well - 40,000kms + 1 skid pan day and still have another upto another 5k in them I reckon.

How do Advan 08, KU36 and Hankook RS2 stack up for wear? Anyone able to tell me what they’ve achieved from a set of these? (Obviously those serious skid pan addicts need not reply )

Rossco, your 40 thou on RS2’s – I take it there were skids pans included?

Price isn’t too major concern, however I’d prefer not to be going through $1000 worth of tyres every 20,000 (Mister Two’s comments scare me )

Get a 2nd set of rims and some toyos, no point wasting good rubber going to the shops and work, and you will never go racing with street rubber again

I managed to get just over 18,000km on my last set of Advan AD-08 before I needed to get them rotated.
Was a fair bit of meat left on the middle of the tyres, had to get them rotated as hard cornering had started to take a toll on the shoulders.
No skids pan days or track days were done with these tyres and I think they would have easily seen another 5000-10000km on them before needing replacement.

My experience with John @ WW led to a purchase of Yokohama ADVAN Sports as John stated they would take some track / skid pad abuse without disintegrating and without the expense of AD08s.
