Default Rim Offset and Tyre Fitment Guide

Ok, In addition to the "anything about rims" thread, this one is dedicated solely to rim offset and tyre fitment.

Below is what is meant by "offset". You can see how offset affects clearance from both the strut and gaurds.

Googling "offset calculator" will probably lead you to websites telling you how you can pay less interest on your mortgage... So go here instead.
Wheel Offset Calculator

Standard rim offsets are:
MY94-97 +55mm offset

MY98-00 +53mm offset

MY02-04 STi +53mm offset

MY01-05 +55mm offset

MY06-07 STi +53mm offset

Forester XT +48mm offset

Post pics of your rims (on your car) and state the rim size, and offset, as well as the tyre size. Along with any other info that may help people choose rim size and styles.

Car: Bug Eye
Rim Brand: Advan RCII
Size: 18
Width: 8.5
Offset: +45
Suspension: HSD HR coilovers, lowered 50mm from standard
Tyre: Goodyear Eagle F1 235/40 R18
Camber: 1.5 degree negative on rear, 0.5 degree negative on front
Other Info: Rolled guards front and rear.

I'd say this is about the perfect fitment and size for looks AND practicality.. If they were wider or offset further, I'd probably have to rely on some tyre stretch to get me by without rubbing, and this of course compromises grip.

I don't get any rubbing now, except for a slight amount on full lock in the front (on the plastic guard liners, not the guards), and none at all in the rear even with a loaded car.

I like this thread very much.

Car: MY01 WRX
Rim Brand: WORK Emotion CR Kai
Size: 18"
Width: 8.5"
Offset: +43
Suspension: HSD HR coilovers
Tyre: Nitto Invo 225/45/18
Camber: Not enough.
Other Info: Rolled guards rear (was rubbing bad). Plenty of clearance up front. Tucks in nice under suspension compression on the rear.

Not much camber at all. Want more. But it handles incredibly well.

I <3 stance

Car: BC5 Legacy RS (similar profile to GC8)
Wheels: WORK VS-SS
Size: 17"
Width: 8"
Offset: +36
Suspension: TEIN HA Coilovers
Tyre: n6000 215/45 R17
Camber: -1 Front. -1 Rear (pic below shows more camber)
Other Info: Rolled guards front and rear. Some rubbing in the back when pushed but i like rubbing.. Went with 215's as the slight tyre stretch tucks up under the guards. Tyre wall when properly inflated takes cornering loads fine.
Could go 225/40's but would need more camber or less low.
