Verso Tune vs Ecutek on WRX MY02
 

I know this has been talked about before but would still like to hear some more about peoples personal experiences. Verso is $990 and Ecutek is $1598 from all the people I have called.
If I take it in for a Verso tune at All Star and it wont work due to something in the car not working properly they say it will still cost me $990. I asume Ecutek would still cost me too even if it fails?
That aside why is Ecutek more, is it more comprehensive tuning or is it just the licensing for the programs.
I will be getting a Turbo back exhaust put in at the same time .
Does the car really need a re-tune at the same time as the exhaust goes on and has anyone got this exhaust type without a tune ?
If either programs fail will I have to get it towed to them at my expense and have to pay for another tune?

Best to speak to the Ecutek agent (MMS) about the costs involved.
What model is yours? Verso is 01 onwards.

I think Verso is a bit more than $990 - well mine was. I do believe there is some price differences between models.

Most of those questions can be answered by your tuner/tuners you have in mind regarding the work.

Take it to Pedders for the Pedderso tune.

Yes it been done to death but I can say its more like $1090 plus GST for Verso flash tune now, not sure but think that the price for Ecutek tune has also increased as well.
ASG or MMS can install your TBE and then tune on the spot. There is a waiting period with both at the moment so call them.

Wow can't believe people are writing back already. All star on my model car charge $990 for Verso.
Pedderso tune? dont be a nob.
As for Turbo exhaust without a retune I have heard different things from different exhaust specialists, anyone had the exhaust done and no tune? Just wondered if I could get exhaust done and then a tune a month later without hurting my car.

Which means it wont be able to be done before powercruise.

Have you spoken to Subaru specialists or tuners?
