Turbo Back exhaust question... please help
 

Hey i have a My00 wrx and wanted to get a TBE.

Mate says he can make me a custom one with no cat and no muffler. The actual pipe will be 3 inches and the tip will widen to 3.5 (remember no muffler).

Will this still have that WRX rumble or will it be slappy. Will it be heaps loud.

does anyone know of a thread or movie that has this setup.

Would there be any disadvantages, or just heaps of power gain.

ofcourse its gonnan be fukn loud. no cat/ muffler and im guessing no resonators too.

you will have minimal power gain as most straight thru mufflers flow good anyway,

It will be very raspy and have no "bass" in the exhuast and boxer sound at all..

Not to mention it will be totally illegal and if you get caught with no cat you will be up for a big fine. I heard as much as $5000 but I could be wrong.

The non muffler set up will be enormously loud and you will get pulled over straight away, then get yellow stickered then when you go to the pits they'll find not cat and then you're F'd in the A. Just go for a conventional cat and muffler set up, it will be roughly equal in power

yer looks like that idea of gettin mate to do it is no longer an option if im just gonna done by coppers! if im to get it properly done how much $$$ am i looking at and which r some good locations(south of river)to get a real WRX sound happening????

you can pick up a SS exhaust on ebay for like $600 turbo back !!

I would reccomend Cypher Industries, very good sound, full ss system i paid 1500 for

10k for the owner of the car and 20k for the shop that did the work i think. why dont you just get your mate to make the exhaust [i]with a muffler[/i] !?!?!? Genius
