Default aftermarket boost actuator, worth it?

As the title states, I am wondering if a aftermarket boost actuator makes much of a difference? I am considering buying a HKS one and wondering if anyone has any dyno figures of standard vs aftermarket..

I am running a VF36 and will probably be running around 21-23psi.

any info greatly appreciated,

Cheers, Tom

Tom,

Dyno it and have a look at your overall boost curve. If its all over the place then yes, If you need dyno time let me know via PM & I will help where I can

Cheers mate. I have seen a few actuators on different cars that do move around a fair amount when coming up to the peak boost range. What you may find is that an aftermarket 3 port boost solenoid may be a option too, to control the pressure to the actuator better.

I would personally go for a 3 port and let the ecu control the boost.

HKS EVC is just a 3 port with it's own controller instead of your ecu controlling it. Great unit and allows some good functions if it is wired up fully (throttle position for boost, different maps etc)... But as for will you notice a difference, doubt it.

would also get a Forge Motorsport or HKS uprate turbo actuator along with the 3 port boost solenoid
