DCCD wiring issue, need some help... Now solved!

Hi all,

I have a wiring issue with my DCCD, the gearbox i'm quite sure is a V5 RA box. The issue I have is that the wires coming from the gearbox don't plug into the DCCD wheel (I have been told after trying to source a new DCCD wheel that V2 to V7 or something like that have the same plug type), and I do not actually know if they are the correct wires..

I have sourced a plug which fits into the bottom of the wheel and tried to place the wires from that plug into the pins of the one coming from the box however it still does not seem to scroll the lights on the dash no matter what way it is wired up..

Below is the wires coming from the gearbox (3 x green, one has a yellow, one has red and one has orange stripe on them).

I have found a V4 DCCD wiring diagram however can't seem to find those color wires on it, but they may be different..

Does anybody know what the green wires are if they are not my DCCD wires? am I missing another wiring harness maybe?

Also would anybody know what the wires going into the back of the DCCD plug look like/what color they are, I have tried searching but to no avail.. It would be a massive favor if somebody was able to take a picture of them (if you have a DCCD) or has a picture..

Any advice would be greatly appreciated as this is one of the last things to sort out in order to get my car tuned..

Cheers,
Tom

The DCCD from the gearbox wires arent supposed to plug into the bottom of the thumbwheel.

They must go to a DCCD control unit. The DCCD signal is a pulse width modulated signal. Something that a little thumbwheel alone cannot do.

Buy yourself an OEM Gc8 DCCD controller or go to DCCDpro.com and buy a automated unit.

Aagh, I was told that the DCCD unit was under the dash, is this correct? if so where abouts is it? or does it sit below the centre consol? will these green wires plug into that and then that into the DCCD wheel?

If not what and where are these green wires from?

Thanks a million for the help!!

also anyone have a controller lying round?

i made this diagram up years ago for the stock v5/6 controller.

And a good diagram it is! but do you know where my green wires fit into that at all? unless i'm reading it wrong (highly possible) I cant see them on there..

cheers

colour codes are on the diagram.

G = Green
W = White
L = Blue
B = Black etc
Gr = Grey

hrmm, still cant see where that plug fits in, do either of the two controllers in the diagram sit below the centre console or are they up in the dash?

what does the dccd pro come with? all wiring etc, cant seem to find much info on his site.

you'll need to make a loom up, there are also relays, power supplies, hand brake wires and the main controller to hookup (the dash isnt necessary).

FYI- the plugs in a LX/GX/RX cruise control module are identicle to the plugs used in a DCCD controller.

also, the controller is one piece,

the EARLY JDM manual for it is here (93-96)

the controller is mounted above the clutch pedal.

i'll see if i can find a picture.- edit found.

aagh, so im guessing that when my DCCD wheel went walkabout off the halfcut that the rest of the wiring etc did aswell... bugger!!

So if I can get hold of a whole loom etc from say jap spares it should all plug in somewhere? and all the plugs that I need will be in a cruise control module?

thanks a million
