Looks like a 1:1 rc car.
Mate, spend your money on handling and stopping. The hp you have will work better with it. Coilovers, whiteline/ cusco etc.

+1 For the drive it first, 271 = pretty quick WRX/STI.

Use the $4k for coilovers + swaybars + bracing, and some sticky rubber then hit a few skidpan/track days

300hp or above is nice to look at on a dyno sheet but it's actually shitter to drive than 271hp with a vf35
you'll be spending 4k for 50 or 40 odd hp and a lot more lag, and like doctor said it will probably only get you on your way do what everyone else has said and drive it for a while, then decide

My girlfriend had a 2005 sti, when she bought it the car only had a turbo back exhaust and a few little things. Drove it for about 4 months then decided a tune (ecutek)/fuel pump/cai would be added. Car went on dyno before the tune 161kw and 278nm after tune 199kw (270hp ish?) and 365nm.
The power difference was great, 270hp atw is plenty of power to play around with, you might as well enjoy the power of the car get use to it then decide on what you would like to do next. If you have 4k make sure you at least spend 100-200 dollars to get the car fully inspected prior to your purchase, it might just save you heaps in the long run. |

cheers for the advice. sounds good.. probably just spend some of the money on the aesthetics of the car.. rims, headlights etc and maybe a decent deck instead of the stock sti one its still got in it!

Go to evolution R get coilovers cusco sway bars and strut bars maybe even some new rims you won't need 300+hp and you probably won like it any way if your car is street : ) I would also go for a bigger TMIC IMO Or even just a newer Sti one as they are pretty good as allowed to the process west beast ; )
