Add a second pill or a smaller size to raise boost, I had a 99 and it was always hitting boost cut, turned out there were 2 pills in there.

Great post, good trick is to put one of these pills on the line toward the map sensor too, gives you a few more seconds before boost cut if you are already on the edge with a boost controller!

Thing is is you need to know which pill to use, there are two common ones, one with a groove cut around the edge and the other smooth, pretty sure the smooth one is WRX

I know this is an old thread, however, is the described setup (i.e the pictures) the same for the GC8?

On my car the turbo inlet nipple hose is going directly to another sensor near the boost solenoid??

1. Pressure sensor (subaru part number 22012AA020)
2. Pressure exchange solenoid valve (Subaru part number 14774AA341)
3. Wastegate control solenoid valve (aka. boost solenoid)

Part numbers and image are from a 1996 WRX

Also add MY98 wrx with 3 port solenoid uses the 1.2mm restrictor in the return line to the intake pipe. But if you drill this out to 1.5mm you get a bit of extra boost without hitting boost cut.
