CAI Piping

Hey guys

I have a MY06 STI and just got my hands on an APEXI pod filter that im gonna fit before it goes in for its tune next month...im not really confident with it being installed in the engine bay sucking in hot air so i want to run it in the panel as a cold air intake. only issue is that i need to find some pipe like the hypertech one or something similar so i can fit my pod onto it in the panel..

where can i get some pipe like that? or will i have to buy a whole kit and just switch the pods around?

something like this minus the pod:

I seen this on eBay the other week...

it was only $45, then $40 for postage from the US

it now appears to be $400 :/

Watch out for big puddles and enjoy taking the driver side wheel off and your inner guard every time you need to clean it............Pain in the arse, put it in a vented box.

Surely an performance work shop or fabrication workshop could make one for a cheapish price. No need for a Whole new kit. If you are going to put it in the guard, make sure you keep the guard liner in place so it doesn't suck up water

thanks for posting the links, i saw some universal ones but was just seeing if you could buy ones actually made for our cars before having to take that route.

is possible to get to the pod without taking wheel off on the gd it just takes a bit of patience and a a few clips just in front of the wheel

after some more research i think iv narrowed it down two different CAI systems.

Hyperflow Cold Air Intake
HYPERFLOW | Intercoolers | Catch Cans | WRX | FORD | Active Exhaust | — WRX/STi 01-07 Cold Air Intake(CAI) Kit

Process West Cold Air Intake
PROCESS WEST - WX/STi Products - MY01-07 Cold Air Intake Kit

i think they are both good brands from what iv heard, they are both the exact same price too...ill just swap the pods with my apexi one as the tuners are ASG have said they get the best results with the Apexi pod.

thoughts?

i consider process west to be the better brand but you cant really go wrong with either
Mate of mine has a perrin CAI and its an outstanding bit of gear if you can get one of them for a decent price

wait, wut? You're going to get the car tuned with the Apexi CAI and then after the tune replace it with your new one?
