Front mount or top mount

Hope some one can help.

I'm running a process west front mount(very large) with a hks 2845 turbo, twin scroll i believe(i think thats the one) and i have just bought a avo top mount(very large) but the problem is i'm not sure whether to get it fitted.I do find a bit of turbo lag but when it kicks in,away you go.

Running 1.3 bar for 246kw atw for 420nm

Any info is appreciated.

Thanks,

Mike

with the torque of the 2.5 and response of the twinscroll I say stick with the front mount.

unless your not happy with it (of course)

remember that if you change to top mount you will need a re-tune.

if you want to sell the top mount pm me, I want one to modify for water-to -air setup.

how much was the avo? and i would also say stick with the front mount a little lag but beats a retune and performance wise a front mount will help if you go for higher hp's :D

At what rpm would you says the boost is kicking in at?

Regardless, the TMIC would reduce your lag but the FMIC will give you the go at the top end.

Gav made 344 hp ath with a process west top mount on his 2.1L stroker..... How much topend did you want?

With the power you are making, front mount is probably the safest. However unless you are thrashing it on hot days all the time a top mount will do the job without too much sacrifice.

I'm around the same power as you with similar setup, if I keep the car much longer I will be swapping back to top mount + waterspray. I just don't see the top end enough to worry about heat soak and the whole point of going twinscroll was for response and bottem end grunt.

Boost comes on at about 4000rpm.I'm not worried about having to get it retuned, but i would like it to be a bit more responsive lower down the rev range.Don't really need top end as i don't track the car.

Looks like I may be selling my process west front mount then?

Thanks for your advice.

Perhaps some nicer twin scroll headers (depending on what you got) or cams?

I found the car very responsive the way it is, if you are happy now leave it alone!!

Couldnt sell it?
