Default Boost leak help - 2012 WRX

Just after some advice with a boost issue on my 2012 WRX.

Driving to work this morning, all normal when driving off boost.

Put my foot down, massive air rushing sound and no power. Obviously a boost leak, maybe a pipe popped off somewhere. Given im not very mechanically minded, where should I check first?

Also the only mod I have besides suspension is a catback exhaust....would this cause the boost to spike at all thus causing pipes to blow off?

Also if i cant fix the issue myself, do you think Subaru will look at it under warranty or will they tell me to get stuffed due to exhaust mod?

Exhaust mod would have not induced boost leak.

Take it to Subi

Check the top mount fittings. We had a few issues of the vacuum hose coming off.

Cheers,

hose from intercooler to throttle body, check the hose clamps because they always come loose and cause the exact issue your describing

Thankyou guys. I just found some threads on NASIOC with a bunch of people saying exactly the same thing, common issue.

Will check it out.

Yep was the hose that MattuZ mentioned, though it had a split in it rather than coming loose. Was fixed under warranty anyway!

Well this issue raised its head again, this time a blown cooler pipe.

City Subaru are suggesting its due to my catback exhaust causing boost spikes. Is this possible given its catback only? Engine is 100% stock.

No.

Tell them to prove it is spiking so hard to rip apart intercooler lines (you would be getting CEL's).

I would guess it wasn't fixed correctly in the first place if it has failed again so quickly.

If it is the same hose that has gone, maybe consider replacing it with a quality silicone part and better clamps once you are out of warranty.
