Blouch 20G upgrade for 2011 WRX
Hey guys, was just wondering what modifications would be needed to run a Blouch 20G turbo on a 2011 WRX. Also any idea of the funds needed for these mods?
Currently only engine mods = 3" TBE and Ecutek tune.. |

if its not a bolt in kit you will need, lines for coolant and oil, intercooler piping as the 2011 intercooler bolts onto the turbo compressor housing (not joined buy a silicon joiner) and an dump pipe i would say
some one else may have a little more info but i think thats about it

Are you planning to re-build your engine so you can take advantage of the that size turbo? If you are then I would include bigger injectors, fuel pump, dump pipe, headers, turbo inlet pipe, probably a CAI as well as upgraded tmic.
If not then I would suggest you select a turbot that is a bit smaller and that requires less boost and I will give you less associated lag.

Everything Dave said above. Arguably you can do without injectors as ASG Sean is confident the stockers will flow to 300hp
Coin: turbo - 1800 fuel pump - 150 headers - 500 Process West TMIC - 1100 Process West hot side pipe (required for the turbo you're looking at) - 110 Re-tune - ??? Around 4k without labour costs

Cheers for that. Yeah was just trying to gather information.. Didn't seem to be much info on the net about what else you need to upgrade for it to be able to run decent boost. I was mainly thinking about what internals would need upgrading though. Apart from the obvious, forged pistons, i have no idea.

VF34, STI TMIC and an ASG tune will net you 200 kw safely and easily and wont require you to open up the engine either. Tried and true power mod road..search VF34

People with far more knowledge than me can chime in, but if you want to build a 2.5 to "take decent boost" I'd be budgeting for 10-12k

Would not be planning on doing this for quite a while (as in maybe a couple of years time) just wanted to find out what's needed though so i'll know what i'm up against. I wouldn't bother with the vf34, if i was going to do a rebuild i would be looking for something with a much larger power increase than stock to get my money's worth.

Blouch turbo's come with all the neccessary fittings. Give Troy from ProSpeed Racing a pm if you want some more info, Troy is great to deal with.
A.Dave listed everything you'd need to take advantage of a 20G. The rest lies in a good tune.
