edit: Kato, running the DBA4000's + QFM A1RM's + Brembo Sport Evo 500++ fluid. Just not pulling up quick enough (even with early braking).
Weird. Unless you want brembo's (by all means get them :D) maybe get someone to have a test and check of your brake system. You should be able to pull up very well on that combo.

What tyres btw?

Also, if the rims don't fit, upgrading to DBA 5000's won't change braking as you want.
Thanks Mark, will see if Dave can do it today. If not I'll give you a buzz.

Brake harder :-)

Running the S-Drives kato.

Lol. I can't get the Kics nuts off anyway so it will have to wait until I find out how to get the suckers off!

edit: got them off, will be doing a test fit Friday. Props to Mark and Dave for lending their services.

These are the brembo's I want: Brembo OE Gold Front Brake Kit Subaru Impreza 2002-2007 / WRX 2002-2012 at RallySportDirect.com

Brand new from the US. Direct replacement for the stock fronts.

If they don't fit I guess DBA5000's + more aggressive pads are the go.

Cheers,
Shane.
Not sure if you noticed Shane but these are out of stock.

Yeah I spoke to one of the RSD sales guys about that. They said they order them only after you purchase them :) (made to order basis I suppose).

American Dave 14-08-2012 05:24 PM

more like they order them from brembo wholesaler in North America

MY00GC8 14-08-2012 05:25 PM

Just do it!!

monkeee 14-08-2012 05:28 PM

True dat Dave.

Test fit on Friday with Master D. If the SSR's clear then Brembo's are a go.

AIG 14-08-2012 06:13 PM

With my old 05 sti we test fitted some SSR's at Wheels World and they didn't clear. That was a few years ago though and I dont recall the wheel model sorry.

The Brembos are definetly better though, particularly at Collie, less so at RAC. Having had an 05 wrx and an 05 wrx sti, both with 888 r specs, 4000 rotors and Ferodo 2500 pads i can confirm that. Not sure how much that is due to the caliper or the larger rotor though.

monkeee 14-08-2012 07:34 PM

Hmm I know what you mean, all the searching Ive done seems the SSR's dont fit. 18 x 7.5 + 48 Type F dont fit a GR STI (Nasioc).

Mine are 18 x 8.0 + 48. Don't know if an extra half inch will make a diff (braces for penis jokes).

Fingers crossed or else the options start to dry up...Project Mu slim-lines are the better part of $4k...ouch.
