I think Kym was talking about my advert Tommy. 26k is pricey for an 06 but it is a dealer seller so no surprise there lol.
Tony, good call on getting ASG to check it out for you Nothing wrong in buying a well modified car so long as it just that, well modified. I guess a really basic checklist is: Full service history (by Subaru/reputable workshop) - minor but still in regards to service, 5000km oil + filter change Modification history (receipts) Accident history (you can check this I am sure) Workshop inspection (as you are doing) I know it sounds pedantic but it is your hard earned cash. May as well get that dream rex you want hey See how it goes with ASG mate. |

So ive been talking to the owner abit more and their is service history up until 20000k's then nothing until 70000k's till now which includes to major service + timing belt ad 100000k's. Should i be worried?

Get it checked by a Subaru specialist if you are concerned. Cheap price to pay for piece of mind.
Personally, I have nfi why someone would want to install a mod to run lower boost than factory. BOV can be a worry, so this is best to be checked out and replaced with a factory unit if you can asap. I'd also want the factory spoiler put back on for the sale, or if it isn't available ensure there is a 3rd brake light (legal requirement).

For only an hour's worth's of work for the workshop to do a full inspection on the car, it's so worth it to find out so much about the car. They will even know if it's ever been in an accident, if any components were replaced recently etc etc etc.
Go get it inspected before you decide. |

Ive decided not to take this car any further. The gap in service history doesnt give me 100% confidence in the car, so iv decided to pass.

Ok so last night i went and looked at 2 rex's, both where advertised for $27000, had very low k's and are very neat. Took them for a drive and loved them. Too bad neither of the dealers wanted to play ball and drop to a reasonable price. Good thing is now i know what an 06 WRX should drive like at its best.
Oh i offered $23000 which i thought was reasonable considering market value is only 20000 max. |

I would not go anywhere near an 06 for $27k. That is 05/6 STI money.
Good work for walking away. When I bought my 02 sti back in 08 it was advertised for $34,999. I paid $30,500. Seems harder though to get cash off cars these days |

No matter how neat they are, dreaming asking $27K.

Personally I would not bother getting an 06 wrx. Get an older model STI. WAYYYY Better!
Brembos, 6 speed, 207 engine, seats, etc....
