Ticking Noise from Front Wheel

I have this ticking noise coming from what sounds like my front right wheel. I can hear the ticking noise after 40km and it gets louder with more speed. If i push the clutch pedal in nothing changes. Makes the ticking noise when rolling over 40km.
I do plan on taking it to a mechanic soon but just wondering if anyone has any ideas of what it could be?

Thanks :D

Maybe the wheel bearing.

Have you given any hitchhikers a ride that looked like this?

Ah me Spy v Spy, has been a while.

Might need to dig up my MAD collection and re-read.

Haha!

Ive checked for rocks in the Tyres but cant see any so far.

I was thinking something to do with a wheel bearing but im not really sure how it would sound.

If i turn corners the sound doesn't change and usually isn't there as im below 40km. I can hear it best when driving in a straight line at 70-80km.

Does it stop or change when you brake?

WRXMatt 02-10-2012 10:26 AM

Braking doesn't seem to change it. Brakes work perfect and the noise is still there until I get to a lower speed. I tried putting the brakes on hard to see any difference but the ticking noise fades away when slowing down.

screw in your wheel?

WRXMatt 02-10-2012 11:25 AM

lol funny you ask that.

The noise started around 2 weeks ago and then my front right tyre went flat. So got the tyre replaced last week. It had a screw in the tyre and the screw was on some angle that they couldn't fixed.

So i thought the noise was because of the screw. After putting the new tyre on the noise is still there :( Ive checked my other tyres for screws or rocks but cant see anything.
